We are currently open for dine-in and take-out! We do not accept reservations and do all seating based on first-come, first-served. Also, we are serving our Pan Fried Chicken all day, so come down and get some for lunch and dinner.

A Local Spot With History
Castle Cafe is part of Castle Rock’s history. In the 1890s, The Castle Hotel and Bar hosted quarry workers, ranchers, and travelers. It was lively enough to need extra deputies. By 1910, it became a stop between Denver and Colorado Springs and a community space. Today, Castle Cafe remains a place for locals and visitors to enjoy good food and simple fun.

Randomly stopped in not knowing anything about the place, very happy I did. Found out they were known for their pan fried chicken so ordered that. Takes about 30 minutes but worth the wait. Very good! The gravy with the mashed potatoes was awesome.

This has been our local favorite for 25 years! The building is over 100 years old and back in the late 1800's, it was the main stop for travelers between Denver and Colorado Springs. It even used to have a dance hall over the restaurant. Great history to this building! Try the fried chicken, its amazing! Another favorite is the green chili soup.Tonight, we had the Chicken fried steak and the Meatloaf. Basically, everything is good and the service is excellent! and No Sniveling! New review 6/25: Still the best pan fried chicken around! The made from scratch potatoes and saw mill gravy are simply the best!!

I can see why their fried chicken is that famous! (FYI... it's 30 min order if you do the fried chicken, so plan accordingly!) Chips and queso were good quality (light on spice), and the shrimp and grits were rich and flavorful! The chicken soup, very authentic authentic recipe, tasted like chicken and dumplings! Relax setting and good service!
